TEC Student Data Privacy Alliance Services

TEC provides members with both the administrative and legal services necessary to negotiate privacy terms with software vendors and secure accurate and complete signed data privacy agreements.

TEC uses 10-State National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA) from the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC).

This service is above the free service that TETA and Classlink provides:

Cost: $550 paid to TETA by the district for the School Year July 1 – June 30 of the current year.
This service allows TEC to handle any agreement with a vendor not already in the registry. They will handle the legal and time to contact and get the process of getting an agreement signed.

School District needs a Data Privacy Agreement (DPA)

• District checks the SDPC Auto Exhibit E Creator. If a DPA is available, the district creates an Exhibit E - All set!
• If a DPA is not available, the district submits a “new request” on the SDPC Resource Registry and assigns the request to “TEC” in the “Progress Admin” dropdown menu.
• TEC receives a system alert that a DPA is needed and gets to work.
